Finding Your Voice During A Pandemic

It’s OK!

"There's a lot of messaging going around about how to use this time. Some of the messaging is focusing on healing, meditation, and reflection. Some of the messaging is focusing on productivity, the hustle, a grind. Maybe you're in a space where you need to check in with your breath because the world is changing hour by hour and your anxiety is high. Maybe your job is stable, your finances are stable, and this gives you space to be creative. Maybe you have to take it day by day and some days you're reflective, while the next day you're wondering wtf followed by a dope business idea on day" 23.

"Remember we are not the same. We are not all dealing with the same circumstances. If you need to block out the noise- BLOCK IT. If you wish to dial up the productivity- DIAL UP. But remind yourself, whichever it is,
IT IS OKAY. "-@REALBROWNGIRLS

5 GOALS FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING WITH GRACE

5 GOALS TO DISTANCE WITH GRACE..

To the Community,

Reflecting over the past few weeks, you best believe, I've had my share of ups and downs.  There are so many unanswered questions, loads of uncertainty, homeschooling and toilet paper!?  Some days I am grateful to spend more time in my creative zone and I'm loving the much-needed quality time I get to spend with my family.  While other days I've sat in a complete state of paralysis, filled with emotion.  To help clear up some of my mental chatter I began journaling because writing has always been my saving grace and has helped me through some of my most poignant life lessons.  I asked myself, what do you want this experience to be for your mental health and spiritual well-being?  I thought about things I can control and the things I can't.I created a simple mindful checklist, eventually narrowing it down to 5 (actionable) goals that can be used in daily meditation or repeated throughout the day whenever doubt seeps in.   The reminders help me shift my energy out of mental mayhem into thoughts of feeling deeply empowered and fully grateful;  and I hope they will do the same for you!

-Warmly, LaToya McInnis
